Founded in 1960, Zhejiang University Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a public and comprehensive veterinary teaching hospital.It is located in the northern part of Zijingang Campus of the University, and was put into use in October 2021. The hospital is qualified as one of the best hospitals for animals in China and is equipped with the first-class team of doctors and advanced medical care facilities. The hospital delivers veterinary services in a teaching environment and is committed to shaping the future of veterinary medicine industry.

Founded in 1960, it is a comprehensive veterinary teaching hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University.
We receive a total of 15,000 cases annually. There are 10 departments in the hospital: soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology, traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, ophthalmology, exotics, clinical laboratory, and pathology services.

The hospital covers a floor area of over 7,000 square meters, located at No. 5, Bo Chuang Street, Xihu District, and is the largest veterinary hospital in Southern China. The Chengxi Branch of this hospital is located at No. 235, Pingshui West Street, and it has been offering veterinary care for 12 years.
96 inpatient cages. We are equipped with 28 dogs cages, 36 cat cages, 16 exotic animal cages, 16 isolation units,4 ICU units, and 1 hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
5 operating rooms There are 5 operating rooms and 1 preparation room, which can support 4 anesthesia procedures at the same time.

Special Service

We are equipped with 34 China-licensed veterinarians, 3 professors, 6 associate professors, 1 DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, licensed in North America), 9 PhD. 34% of all our medical staff have master's degree or above.

Our class-1000 laminar flow clean field surgery unit is equipped with class-1000 laminar flow hood, animal-specific anesthesia ventilator, and a C-arm. The imaging center is equipped with advanced imaging equipment such as B-mode ultrasound, DR, 128-slice CT, and 1.5T superconducting MRI.

Dr. Lin is a distinguished professor, veterinary surgeon and dermatologist. He is the president of China Small Animal Medical Association, Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the president of China Small Animal Medical Conference. Dr. Lin is also an evaluation expert for new veterinary drugs in Ministry of Agriculture. He specializes in small animal dermatology, oncology, surgery, clinical nutrition, and is renowned in the veterinary clinical practice and industry across the country. Dr. Lin has mentored/supervised 185 doctoral and Master students in his professorship, and has edited (translated) 27 textbooks and professional literature.

National Licensed Veterinary Physician. Previous visiting scholar in Kansas State University. His particular interest includes integrative medicine in small animal internal medicine, dermatology and neuromuscular system; equine traditional Chinese medicine and acupunctural therapy.The 7th China veterinary drug standard committee of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Senior member of Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Executive Director of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Branch of Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Member of small Animal Medicine Branch of Chinese Society of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Executive Director of National Dairy Cow Disease Prevention and Control Technology Innovation Alliance, National science and technology talents of three regions. I am mainly engaging in veterinary medicine and small animal disease teaching and research work. I have presided over more than 10 projects, such as the Youth Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China and general projects, doctoral Fund of The Ministry of Education, sub-projects of the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Chongqing Technological Innovation and Application Development Project, and Chongqing Doctoral Special funding project. And I have published more than 50 papers, including 13 SCI papers and 8 monographs.

Graduated from China Agricultural University, he is expert in small animal internal medicine and tumor diseases. He is a standing director of Veterinary Pathology Branch, member of council of Veterinary Medicine and Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Branch in Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He is also good at diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. He has supervised more than 10 graduate students and teaches courses including "Veterinary Internal Medicine" and "Veterinary Diagnostics". He has presided over dozens of national, provincial and ministerial projects, published more than 30 papers, and translated about 10 books such as Atlas for the Diagnosis of Tumors in the Dog and Cat.

Orthopedic and imaging specialist, national licensed veterinarian. Graduated from China Agricultural University with Doctor degree. Studied in University of Minnesota, USA, University of Tokyo, Japan. Executive Director of Chinese Veterinary Surgery Association, Executive Director of Obstetrical Society, Executive Director of Small Animal Medical Association. Specializes in orthopedics, nerve, tumor, urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract and other surgical diseases and imaging diagnosis. Supervised more than 10 graduate students. Teached courses include "Basic Anesthesia and Surgery for Dogs and Cats", "Veterinary Imaging", "Veterinary Obstetrics" and "Prevention and Treatment of Small Animal diseases". Has presided over dozens of national and provincial research projects and published more than 20 SQ papers. Edited books (translated) "Small animal anesthesia and Surgery", "Veterinary imaging Experiment Guidance" and "Emergency Medicine"etc.

In 1992, he graduated from the Department of Veterinary Medicine of Zhejiang Agricultural University with a bachelor's degree. In 1995, he graduated from the Department of Veterinary Medicine of Northwest Agricultural University with a master's degree. In 2007, he graduated from the Department of Microbiology of Zhejiang University with a doctor's degree. Since 1992, he has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in animal histopathology, cow mastitis and other aspects in the School of Animal Science of Zhejiang University. He is good at animal pathological section, pathological diagnosis and picture analysis.

Dr. Wang has graduated and obtained her master degree of Clinical Veterinary Medicine from China Agricultural University since 2011, and she is committed to care and cure animals for more than 10 years since then. She is now a deputy chief veterinarian and the deputy director of the outpatient department in Zhejiang University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She is an expert of small animal internal medicine, oncology as well as dermatology. She has been giving professional medical lectures around the country since 2014. She has published several articles frequently andparticipated in the translation of several professor books.

Dr. Yan is a new addition to our family. She received her associate professorship in Zhejiang University this year. Dr. Yan received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the United States, as well as a Master’s degree in public health. She is a licensed veterinarian in North America, and practiced in an Emergency and Referral hospital in the state of California before moving back to her hometown, Hangzhou. Her clinical focuses include small animal Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine (cardiac, endocrine, chronic diseases, etc.), Ophthalmology, etc.

Tianchao Hui is clinical teacher of veterinary medicine, College of Animal Science, Zhejiang University. He has been engaged in teaching, scientific research and clinical outpatient work of veterinary surgery for more than 20 years, and has rich clinical teaching and practical experience; Concentrate on the research of cutting-edge technologies in veterinary surgery, introduce and develop new technologies and the application and promotion of new technologies in veterinary surgery; He is particularly good at surgical techniques such as oncology, urology, digestive surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, orthopedics, minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgical techniques and the diagnosis and treatment of complex surgical diseases.

He has worked in the teaching veterinary hospital of China Agricultural University. He specializes in ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, neurosurgery, minimally invasive surgery, bone and joint surgery, complex oral surgery treatment, and has performed a large number of difficult surgeries.
