Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine

We utilize the syndrome differentiation and treatment system of Traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, Chinese medicinal prescriptions and acupuncture, combined with modern Western methodology. We aim to provide specialized veterinary diagnostic and treatment service to all kinds of companion animals, as well as to play an important role in securing animal health.

Ph.D/Professor, Doctoral Supervisor

National Licensed Veterinary Physician. Previous visiting scholar in Kansas State University. His particular interest includes integrative medicine in small animal internal medicine, dermatology and neuromuscular system; equine traditional Chinese medicine and acupunctural therapy.The 7th China veterinary drug standard committee of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Senior member of Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Executive Director of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Branch of Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Member of small Animal Medicine Branch of Chinese Society of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Executive Director of National Dairy Cow Disease Prevention and Control Technology Innovation Alliance, National science and technology talents of three regions. I am mainly engaging in veterinary medicine and small animal disease teaching and research work. I have presided over more than 10 projects, such as the Youth Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China and general projects, doctoral Fund of The Ministry of Education, sub-projects of the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Chongqing Technological Innovation and Application Development Project, and Chongqing Doctoral Special funding project. And I have published more than 50 papers, including 13 SCI papers and 8 monographs.

China-licensed veterinarian

In 2012, he obtained a practicing veterinarian. In 2014, he went to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Mahbu University in Japan for further study. In 2015, he graduated from Beijing Agricultural College with a master's degree. After graduation, he has been working in the Zhejiang University Veterinary Teaching Hospital till now. And he is the executive director of the Chengxi Branch of Zhejiang University Veterinary Teaching Hospital; He is good at the treatment of difficult animal diseases with combination of Chinese and Western medicine, pet internal medicine, neurology and soft tissue surgery, and Chinese veterinary diagnosis and treatment of equine diseases.

Personnel structure

Traditional Chinese medicine team is composed of teachers/professors and veterinarians from Zhejiang University College of Animal Sciences and Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Now we have 5 members (2 professors, 2 associate researchers, 2 doctoral supervisors, 2 master’s supervisors, 4 with doctoral degrees). These members are undertaking more than 10 research projects from Ministry of Technology and Science and National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Technical advantages

We aim to provide more options for clinical treatment and health care of pets, especially for neurologic, musculoskeletal diseases (such as cervical spondylosis, lumbar spondylosis, vestibular syndrome, tremors, hip osteoarthritis), and other clinical acupuncture treatment techniques. We specialize in utilizing traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture treatment for common medical and surgical diseases in pets such as skin, digestive, respiratory, and common geriatric diseases, chronic diseases, as well as alleviating the side effects of tumor chemotherapy.
